Normally, when you lend something to someone, you expect it back just as it was before, right?

I am so not happy. I lent my Twilight books to Julia (my brother’s girlfriend), and she damages New Moon & Breaking Dawn (not sure about Eclipse, though). SHE DOGGY-EARED MY BOOKS! And the covers! T_____T

Is this some kind of revenge? Since when she lent me 2 of her books, I damaged them? >__> But! These books are like my babies (I know that sounds bad; I lent my babies out. -_-). :( She has like hundreds and hundreds of books; And she’d never reread them.. So! Why does it matter? ._.
